Eligibility & Registration
Do I need to be a college student to play?
Not strictly. CPA started as a collegiate-themed league but accepts any 2K player who joins through the Discord. Coaches build programs around school identities; players sign with whichever program drafts them.
How do I sign up for a season?
Join the CPA Discord and run /draft register in any channel during an open registration window. The bot guides you through gamertag, platform, positions, and payment.
What does it cost?
Player fee, coach fee, and a few opt-in add-ons (unlimited positions, showcase skip). Exact amounts vary per season — see the registration form when signups open.
Can I change my position after registering?
Yes. Run /draft positions in Discord or open your profile on the website to update your selected positions any time before the showcase period closes.
Showcase & Draft
What is the showcase period?
Players play 3 showcase games to become draft-eligible. Coaches watch (or play) and use the box scores to scout for the draft. You can pay the Showcase Skip add-on to bypass the requirement.
How does the draft work?
Each coach drafts a roster from the eligible pool. Pick order is determined by the lottery — the lottery itself runs live in Discord and the website on draft night.
What if I miss the live draft?
Your coach can still draft you while you're offline — picks aren't gated on player presence. Once a pick lands, you're notified in Discord and can join your team's coaching office.
Match Rules
How do matches work?
Regular season is 5v5 best-of-3. Coaches schedule the time, both sides upload screenshots after each game, the AI extracts box scores and the result auto-commits. Stats flow into your career profile.
What about forfeits?
If a team is short and can't field 5 by tip-off, the match defaults to a forfeit win for the other side. Forfeits count toward your season cap — too many can cost you playoff eligibility.
Who handles disputes?
Open a ticket in #league-office on Discord. Admins review screenshots, stat discrepancies, and roster questions there.
Roster & Trades
Can my team trade players mid-season?
Yes. Trades go through the Coaches' Office in Discord — both coaches confirm, the bot validates cap space and roster size, and the move posts to #transactions automatically.
What's salary cap?
Every team gets the same cap to spend on signings, releases, and trades. Cap space carries between transactions but doesn't roll over between seasons.
Can I sign as a free agent during the season?
Yes — once the draft ends, the Free Agents directory shows everyone unsigned. Coaches can sign FAs subject to cap space and a per-team emergency-signing limit.
Stats & Profile
Why is my profile missing games?
Your gamertag has to match what's on the box score the OCR pulls. If a game shows up unlinked, head to your profile, find the unlinked stat line, and link it manually — it'll attribute the game to your career.
What stats are tracked?
Per-game: PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TOV, FG/3PT/FT splits, +/-, minutes. Career averages roll up automatically. Showcase, regular-season, and playoff stats are tracked separately.
